Dear Sirs Please give your consideration to the following proposal. AD 97-26-07 presently requires the repetitive inspection of No.1 and No. 4 main fuel tank boost pump wirings which run through the inboard fuel tanks per Boeing Service Bulletin 747-28A2204. This inspection makes sure that the wirings are not damaged to be an ignition source. But after the modification. alternatively, GFI relays will monitor the electrical faults and remove the power from the fuel pump immediately to minimize the risk of ignition source when the wires are damaged. If FAA can approve SB 747-28A2261 as a terminative action for AD 97-26-07, please clarify it in the AD description to save operator's workload.
