United Airlines (UA) concurs with the contents of the proposed rule and offers the following comments.
1. Paragraph (i) of the proposed AD informs of an error in paragraph 3.B.12.i.(5) of Part 1 of the Accomplishment Instructions of Boeing Service Bulletin 757-28A0078, Revision 1, dated August 24, 2010. UA believes the error is in paragraph 3.B.12.l(5) - lower case “L” - of the said Boeing service bulletin as shown in Boeing Service Bulletin Information Notice 757-28A0078 IN02, dated October 6, 2010.
2. UA reviewed and discovered a potential error in Boeing Service Bulletin 757-28A0078, Revision 1, dated August 24, 2010. The service bulletin called out marking the affected panel using Standard Wiring Practices Manual (SWPM) 20-50-10 as the reference. UA did not find SWPM 20-50-10 as a valid publication. UA believes the correct reference is Standard Overhaul Practices Manual (SOPM) 20-50-10. UA has informed Boeing of this potential error. If Boeing confirms that the correct reference is SOPM 20-50-10, UA requests that the proposed AD also makes reference to this error.
