In the interest of safety for future pilots and the aviation community, we need to restrict the installation of aircraft parts that have reached their life limit. The problem that might occurr here would be, owners not reporting or placarding that their life-limited equipment is overdue. Whether manufacturers or the FAA set it up, I believe we should have a tracking system set up, on the date the part is born, for which the public can research a part before purchase to view the life date on that equipment. On top of that, we should have parts identified and documented by mechanics or companies performing annual inspections on these parts as an alternate tracking method. Reports could then possibly be sent to the FAA and listed or updated in a public system.
