I'd rather this rule NOT become an AD. Let me look... No, I don't have $1400 lying around to fix my airplane which has been in service with no problems for the past FOURTY THREE YEARS.
Also, my flight school has 2 other Pipers that fall into these serial numbers (which look like they cover EVERY SINGLE Piper ever made...). You know as well as I, that flight schools are hanging on by a thread. Don't throw a $2800 tax at us and take our planes off the line for 2 days.
Leave it a Service Bulletin.
