I have been the owner and pilot of a PA 32/300 serial #40107 which I purchased in 1971. If it was assembled wrong in 1966 0r 1967 it has been safe for many years and there should be no need for inspection or correction. The bow tie control wheels were replaced with rams horn type control wheels many years ago to get rid of the need for reinspection for cracks in the bowtie type wheels. They have surved well for many years. This proposed AD is an OVERKILL of an extremely minor problem. If the two problems were due to bad assemblly then the AD should only cover small periods of time around the times the aircraft were assembled. THIS IS A DEFINITE OVERKILL AD.
