How can pilots be pilots be held responsible for flying fatagued by the very regulations that are guaranteed to cause it? At the end of 10 flight hours, you are going to be fatagued, I don't care who you are. You might start off the trip perfectly rested and feeling great, but at the end of 10 flight hours you are going to be dragging. If a pilot is doing these 10 hours in one or two legs, what is he supposed to do? Stop flying while the airplane is in the air?
I have flown close to the current 8 hour flight time limit in serveral types of aircraft, under many conditions. Never at any time did I ever feel that flying beyond the 8 hour flight time limit would be a good idea, regardless of the number of legs that were flown.
In the attempt to get 10 hour flight days into this NPRM a completely unwieldy document has been created. Why not just do something simple like: 14 hours max duty, 10 hours min rest, 8 hours max flight time in any 24 hour period?
