The current docket proposes a new AD to mandate the Airbus A330 series airplanes ALS Part 3 (CMR) at Rev 02.
The A330 ALS Rev 03 was approved by the EASA on 29 July 2010 and it contains new and more restrictive requirements as compared to Rev 02. A new PAD has been proposed to EASA and this is expected to be published in the near future on the EASA website.
Under EASA Part M, the Rev 03 of the ALS Part 3 is mandatory for Operators under EASA jurisdiction, but the forthcoming EASA AD will inform ICAO participants of the recently EASA approved mandatory document.
To maintain consistency between Operators/Owners/Lessors etc, would it be more appropriate for the FAA AD to mandate the ALS Part 3 Rev 03 instead of Rev 02.
