It seems very necessary to make the changes previously required. I don't understand why the compliance time would need to be extended for adding the reinforcing fiberglass overcoat to the top surface of the MEC drip shield. This seems like a very scary risk to not fix the issues and repair all affected aircraft, so this notice is very important to the passengers and crew flying in these aircraft. I would hope that the changes would be made as soon as possible.
