American Airlines has reviewed the proposed rule and provides the following comments regarding Docket No. FAA-2010-0678: The proposed rule would mandate the accomplishment of Boeing service bulletin 777-23-0175, revision 2 dated October 12, 2006. This service bulletin changes the operation of cabin lighting system when the CABIN/UTILITY switch is installed on the affected airplanes. The affected American Airlines airplanes referenced in the service bulletin (WB416 – WB433, WC051 – WC067) do not have the CABIN/UTILITY switch installed. Therefore American Airlines believes the change to the cabin management system (CMS) on those airplanes should not be required.
