I urge the FAA to take a closer look at this AD. There must be a more objective way to determine if the aircraft is safe than is proposed by the certificate holder. According to the FAA database there are 183 affected aircraft in the US. They are owned and used primarily by small gliding clubs and represent a substantial investment. To have a subjective judgement by the certificate holder based on questionable parameters is not fair to the owners of these aircraft.
