Boeing recommends operators should consider combining the SB 737-21-1164 modification with the service bulletin modification for the addition of the red "cab ALT" and T/O WARN" (SB 737-31A1325 rev) as both modifications require access to the same area and extensive downtime (estimated 2 days) for the installation (flight deck sidewall and ceiling panel removal is planned to allow access the wire bundle raceway). The SB 737-21-1164 modification has not been released up to now. The FAA should consider that operators still waiting for the release of the SB 737-21-1164 than they have to order all the needed parts for the modifications and have to schedule the modifications of both SBs (SB 737-21-1164 and SB 737-31A1325) in the best feasible way. A to short time when the proposed AD becomes valid, without knowing when SB 737-21-1164 will be released by Boeing, could cause an high amount of extra costs. To be forced to perform both SBs (SB 737-21-1164 and SB 737-31A1325) separate would probably cause double of modification time and double of modification cost. Please cooperate with Boeing and consider the release of SB 737-21-1164 before release the proposed AD.
