To whom this may concern:
Prompted by an observation made by the FAA of a typographical error (wrong P/N) in the Applicability of EASA AD 2009-0221, which was kindly communicated to EASA on 23 June 2010, EASA revised the AD and republished this as AD 2009-0221R1 on 30 June 2010.
However, in NPRM FAA-2010-1038, published in the Federal Register on 21 October 2010, paragraph (k) refers to the original EASA AD, and consequently contains a Note under the heading "FAA AD Differences", which states that “This AD differs from the MCAI and/or service information as follows: The applicability of the MCAI includes MLG part number (P/N) 41050–6, which is not an affected part. P/N 41060–6, however, is an affected part, and is included in the applicability of this AD”.
May I suggest that for the Final Rule, reference is made to the revised EASA AD (the original is not valid anymore) and that the Note is amended to state “No differences”?
