NPRM Comments/ Concerns:
UAL is concerned about the SB/NPRM being undone and thus leading to the same condition that prompted the SB/NPRM. UAL suggests the following be incorporated into the SB/NPRM.
AMM references for mid-pivot access door installation (AMM 54-51-03/401) need to include a check for the post-SB marker (BAC27EPP667) prior to installing the access door.
OR
Mid-pivot access door part number should be changed post-SB instead of keeping the same part number. This new/ post-SB part number would then need to be in the IPC. (The current SB states in the “Parts Modified and Reidentified” section - None.)
If none of the above options are incorporated then there is a large chance of the SB/NPRM/AD being undone due to the following common scenarios.
•New access doors w/o marker being installed on post-SB plane
•Surplus access doors w/o marker being installed on post-SB plane
•Access doors w/marker (post-SB aircraft) swapped with access doors w/o marker (pre-SB aircraft).
