Docket No. FAA-2010-1160
Directorate Identifier 2010-NM-148-AD
1. As of the effective date of the proposed AD, paragraph (g), paragraph (i)(2)(i)(C), paragraph (i)(2)(ii) and paragraph (k) require repeat inspections at specified intervals using Boeing Service Bulletin 767-28A0053, Revision 3, dated November 11, 2011. UAL noticed that Boeing has incorporated the intent of SB 767-28A0053, Revision 3, dated November 11, 2011 into 767 AMM 28-22-15/601. UAL suggests that provision be added to the proposed AD to allow the use of 767 AMM 28-22-15/601 when accomplishing repeat inspections required by the AD.
2. Paragraph (l) of the proposed AD specified Boeing Service Bulletin 767-28A0104, Revision 1, dated March 2, 2012, as the terminating action for paragraphs (g) and (k). As UAL previously commented, UAL reviewed this SB and noticed that Figure 68, Sheets 4 and 5, are both shown as View E. Boeing confirmed that Figure 68, Sheet 4 should be View D. Furthermore, UAL noticed that Figure 72, Sheet 2, only shows Circle Symbol 5 for removal of wire bundles W0476 and W0478. Boeing confirmed that Circle Symbol 8 should also be added next to Circle Symbol 5 for installation of the wire bundles. Boeing has not issued an SB information notice or revised the SB to address the UAL observations. Therefore, UAL suggests that the proposed AD make reference to the observed SB discrepancies in order to prevent AMOC requests from the operators.
