When the ACSS anomaly occurs, does it have any effect on the operation of the aircraft's transponder? Stated in another way, does the transponder continue to operate in a normal manner, broadcasting and responding to interrogations, notwithstanding the ACSS anomaly? Was the transponder performance verified during the course of the investigation?
