1. Paragraph (g), Inspection and Repair:Group 1 Airplanes
The SB states to remove the thrust reverser. But the SB information notice (IN) 01, dated August 31, 2010, states that it is not necessary to remove the thrust reverser but it is necessary to remove the translating sleeve from the thrust reverser.
Please add a statement that it is not necessary to remove the thrust reverser but it is necessary to remove the translating sleeve from the thrust reverser.
2. Paragraph (g), Inspection and Repair:Group 1 Airplanes
The SB instructs to do a detailed inspection on the actuator rod end assembly for damage. It instructs to inspect the end assembly per SB Figure 2 or Figure 26, but they do not provide inspection limits.
Please provide inspection limits for the actuator rod end assembly.
3. Paragraph (g), Inspection and Repair : Group 1 Airplanes
The SB states to replace the actuator rod end assembly if damage is found. It instructs to replace the end assembly per SB Figure 3 and Figure 27, per CMM 78-31-18 and 78-31-19, but it cannot be done on wing.
Please add an option to replace the actuator assembly in addition to replacing the rod end assembly.
4. Paragraph (l).(4), Repetitive Inspections and Corrective Actions
Proposed AD specify to inspect the rod end, attach bolt and nut in accordance with the SB Appendix A, and if any damage is found, before further flight, replace the affected part with a new part in accordance with a method approved by the Manager, Seattle Aircraft Certification Office, FAA.
Removal/installation of the affected parts is stated in SB Figures 1, 3, 24 (for LH TR) and Figures 25, 27, 39 (for RH TR), so please call out those figures instead of obtaining ACO approval.
5. Paragraph (l).(4), Repetitive Inspections and Corrective Actions
Proposed AD instructs to do the repetitive inspection at every 7,500 hours. Please evaluate the extension of the interval based on findings/feedbacks.
