This is comment on Proposed Rule

Amendments to Class B Airspace: Salt Lake City, UT

I strongly oppose the airspace modification of the KSLC area. The proposed 12000 MSL ceiling is above the reasonable operating altitudes of many if not most light general aviation airplanes. The MEA constraints east of the proposed expansion of class B airspace, necessary because of the Wasatch range, and their height, limit the ability to operate either VFR or IFR. Furthermore, the additional length of the proposed expansion makes it impracticable (and expensive) to circumnavigate the area. This is plain and simply another airspace grab, motivated by the airlines. The FAA seems to think only airlines and military need to be considered. Instead of promoting aviation, particularly general aviation, you are strangling it. Never forget the roots of aviation. Remember, without the Wright brothers, Alberto Santos Dumont, and others, there would be no airlines! We need a lot more consideration and encouragement than we do increased regulation.
