The proposed rule eliminateing any child under the age of 16 to work on a farm unless owned by the parent does not make muchj sense. If the farm is owned by a grandparent or uncle should be OK as a parent ewould never allow the child to go there to wwork if he did not trust the grandparent or uncle to protec t the safety of the child. If a young person can not partipate in 4-H or FFA programs until age 16 there will be no farmers to replace those that are ageing. Who is going to grow the world's food if young people can't get started until 16? I am 63 now - grew up on a farm -I got my first off the farm job as a waitress because I was a farm kid with a strong work ethic and "knew who to work"...that is still true today. This law will not prevent injury in this age group. Education will. Thanks
