I think an initial inspection is warranted and have done so to our A/Cs. SN2349. No cracks were found. However, I would like to point out the following: 1. There has never been an actual failure of this part. 2. Cracks were found in only a small percentage of the fleet. 3. The cause, according to our DER was most likely overtourqueing during previous installation. 4. The cracks do not appear to be time or use related. In recognition of the foregoing, the re-inspection periods should be either extended or eliminated, with replacement considered an permanent fix.
