Martinair has noted that the NPRM references SB PW4ENG A73-200 only. However, the actual modification is performed by SB JFC131-2-73-A24 of Hamilton Sundstrand. Therefore, Martinair would like to see that reference is made to SB JFC131-2-73-A24 as well.
Secondly, the NPRM references the Pratt & Whitney assigned partnumber [50U150], however the majority of the fuel control units does not have the P&W partnumber at their data plate. Each unit does however have the Hamilton Sundstrand PN [801000-3] stamped at the dataplate. Therefore Martinair would like to have the HS partnumber added.
Thirdly, the NPRM has been limited to PN 801000-3 units, the dash -1 and dash -2 units are not affected. The SBs JFC131-2-73-7 and JFC131-2-73-9 modify the -1 and -2 into a -3 unit. Martinair noted that these modification do not alter the design of the metering valve which is subject to modification by JFC131-73-2-A24. Therefore Martinair is of the opinion that the -2 and -3 fuel control units are affected as well
