I'm a former Quality Inspector that once was employed at the phoenix engines & systems manufacturing plant. These parts were once manufactured there. I was laid off in late September 2010 as part of a restructuring to outsource manufacturing to Chihuahua, Mexico, and The Czech Republic. I would see quite a few discrepant components that had been manufactured at these facilities. We could repair what we could, and the rest we would have to return. There was a point in time we could no longer repair the nonconforming parts. All the tooling was gone or scrapped. Management was in a big hurry to transition everything machines, tooling, gauging, I mean everything! By September 2010 it was about all transitioned out. It took the Phoenix site many years to develop these manufacturing processes. I hope the stock holders are happy. Whats next?
