Paragraph (C) - Applicability: The NPRM states the applicability is for part number 5A3307-1, -3, -5, or -301, serial number BNG0001 through BNG5707 inclusive. The Goodrich Service Bulletin mandated by the AD, 5A3307-25-389, is applicable to part number 5A3307-3, -5, and -301, serial number BNG0001 through BNG14499. Goodrich Service Bulletin 5A3307-25-9, a concurrent requirement, is applicable to part number 5A3307-1, -3, -5, and -301, serial number BNG0001 through BNG5707. Southwest Airlines request confirmation that the AD will only be applicable to part number 5A3307-1, -3, -5, or -301 slides with serial number BNG0001 through BNG5707, and not all the way to serial number BNG14499 to coincide with SB 5A3307-25-389.
Paragraph (J) - Parts Installation: The NPRM states that “As of the effective date of this AD, no person may install on any airplane a part identified in paragraph (j)(1), (j)(2), or (j)(3) of this AD.” This prohibits installation of a 5A3307-5 slide (the vast majority of our slides) on an aircraft during the 36 month effective window up until the die date. All installed slides will have to be 5A3307-7 immediately at the effective date of the AD. Southwest Airlines request the rewording of this provision on the released AD allowing for operational flexibility during the 36 month window of the AD.
