There is one area that should be of use for UAV testing due to the lack of General Aviation traffic. The Washington DC area would be ideal due to the extensive coverage already there to document any problems encountered during the test. In this area the UAV's could be of all the sizes and various mass configurations that are to be considered. The UAV traffic could be routed to the New York area for further testing without moving the operators from the operations facility. The UAV's could also fly south to the Norfolk area so that they could be tracked and evaluated by NAVLANT to see if they are compatible with , and can be tracked by all of the service branches as well as civilian observers. There should be plenty of targets for the testing units to interact with.
