Petitions for Exemptions

View Comment

FAA-2012-0350-0001 I am writing in support of the above request for Exemption/Rulemaking, filed on behalf of all general aviation pilots in the United States by AOPA and EAA. I am over 60 years of age now, and allowed my Class III medical to expire. We have an aging pilot base of very experienced men and women, who strongly desire to keep flying and share the joys of it with the next generation. Many, like me, gladly accept the Sport/Recreational status upon retirement: it's only for pleasure now and at less hectic pace, incurring less expense on our limited budgets without the FAA physical requirement. We will gladly abide by the stringent self governance set out in the filing... we are only asking for a chance to fly the type of planes we grew up with . Thank You !
