AD 2011-18-52 effective May 3, 2012 should be written so that it supercedes Emergency AD 2011-18-52 issued August 25, 2011. The way it is right now, operators acquiring affected aircraft after May 3, 2012 will have to comply with the new AD, but aircraft operated before this date remain affected by the Emergency AD. That means some operators will need to track two different ADs with two different effective dates but both with the same number. Also, the paragraph numbering regimen have changed. What was paragraph (c) is now paragraph (e)(3). Are such asinine changes really necessary?
