As a pilot who fly’s past this area on an almost daily basis, I believe it is a good idea to re-establish the Class D airspace that once existed at this location. The traffic pattern which is utilized by the military aircraft in the area is directly in the path of aircraft transitioning north and south between the military base and the mountains. Having a Class D airspace established with mandatory communication in the area will provide protection for both the civilian traffic transitioning and the military aircraft conducting the traffic patterns to land at Bryant AAF. In addition, this is a choke point type corridor not very wide next to the mountains. If there were a mandatory frequency to be on with mandatory calls, the tower could readily point out target traffic for the aircraft transitioning back and forth. I truly believe safety would be enhanced with this approval of Class D airspace at the Bryant AAF.
