For the small amount of rotary wing traffic, and even less fixed wing Sherpa traffic, awarding Bryant AAF (which is just a few kilometers from Elmendorf AFB, a high performance fixed wing, heavy lift, rotory, and light GA aircraft Class D) another Class D Airspace designation doesn't make sense. I have lived near the corridor along the Glenn Highway/Fort Richardson for nearly a decade and can attest to the significant light GA traffic transitting the corridor and the very light traffic at Bryant.
Such a plan would impact safety as any tower controller would be more preoccupied with the transitting aircraft requests than arriving and departing military operations.
Please closely evaluate the need "and not desires" of a few Bryant AAF aircraft to have a lightly used Class D Airspace before you impact tens of thousands of other aircraft and their pilots. Please just do the research. As a retired naval aviator and Air Force flyer, is there a valid critical military requirement?
Thanks...Ray
