Since July 2012 I have been working at Bryant tower. During that time I have witnessed 7 close encounters between aircraft using the Bryant airport and aircraft flying in the north south VFR corridor east of Bryant airport. Three of those encounters were first spotted by the aircraft who reported to us and the other four were spotted from the tower. In those cases we were able to warn the Bryant aircraft in time to avoid the conflict. Reestablishing the Bryant Class D airspace allows the tower to give control instructions to avoid the traffic in the VFR corridor as well as extra eyes looking for those conflicts. The Class D airspace will allow Bryant tower to help aircraft avoid some situations that may have gone unnoticed until a collision occurred. This makes it safer for Bryant aircraft and aircraft using the VFR corridor.
