The proposed amendments to the Class B Airspace are not justified by the traffic to and from KDTW. The proposed expansion was initiated prior to the recent and prolonged decrease in commercial traffic into the Detroit Metropolitan International Airport and the very recent significant cancellation of regional service to and from KDTW.
The proposed amendments decrease safety in the Detroit metropolitan airspace by unecessarily compressing VFR traffic into the area general aviation airports with lower operating ceilings which will increase the risk of mid-air collisions.
The proposed amendments lack service volume justification and decrease regional air traffic safety.
