Inspection of control system cables and pulleys is already part of the annual inspection. This AD is redundant, but then goes on to require disassembly of turnbuckles, which will cause more harm than good. Invasive disassembly of mechanical systems increases the risk of damage and re-assembly issues, ultimately leading to more failures than this AD was meant to address. There have certainly been few control system failures in Cherokee aircraft, and to propose a blanket AD for all models when there were one or two instances of failure in aircraft with significant corrosion history is unnecessary. This proposed AD should be canceled since it is redundant.
