FAA-2012-0807; Directorate Identifier 2011-NM-191-AD
Please find below our comments:
Please be informed that 2011-0167 has been superseded by AD 2012-0083
Paragraph (c) Applicability: to add the two missing models A318-121, A318-122
Paragraph (g): Compliance time not in line with EASA AD 2012-0083
Paragraph (h): Table 2 Part Number of the Affected Passenger Emergency Oxygen Container Assemblies: to be in line with EASA AD 2012-0083 table 1 – Affected Part Numbers. The reason of discrepancy of EASA AD and BE VSBs 1XCXX-0100-35-005, Revision 1, 22CXX-0100-35-003, Revision 1 is to ensure no part number having Serial number as listed in table 2 of EASA AD 2012-0083 will be missed. Paragraph (2.3) of AD 2012-0083 services that purpose as well.
Paragraph (h): NPRM requires: “ If the operational check fails, before further flight, repair, using a method approved by either the Manager, International Branch, ANM 116, Transport Airplane Directorate, FAA; or the European Aviation Safety Agency (or its delegated agent).” Please consider removing the sentence since it is already covered by AIRBUS standard practices (AMM/TSM).
Paragraph (i) Exceptions: to add exception as given by AD 2012-0083 paragraph (9) and Appendix 1.
Please correct the typing error in the NPRM throughout the whole document: B/E Aerospace Service Bulletin 1XCXX-0100-35-005, Revision 1, dated December 15, 2012. The date shall be corrected to: VSB 1XCXX-0100-35-005 Revision 01 dated December 15, 2011.
Thank you.
