As a frequent traveler, I support these changes. It is not unreasonable to think that flight crew, who often have demanding schedules and disrupted sleep patterns, might be distracted by engaging in behaviors that do not directly correlate to the operation of the aircraft. The FAA has numerous examples where these behaviors resulted in moments or in some cases, extended periods of distraction and those occasions pose an increased risk of danger, however slight, to the aircraft and its passengers just it would in any other operating vehicle.
