Docket No. FAA–2012–1114; Directorate Identifier 2012–NE–21–AD. Having reviewed this AD proposal, and compared it with the similar EASA AD we would like more information on the aplicability of the AD concerning the relation between the TS-1 fuel usage and the engine’s operation history/background. Please consider the following questions: - Will there be a minimum TS-1 usage percentage for which the HMU will be considered affected, requiring SBs 73-0122 (5B) or 73-0182 (5A) to be complied with? - If so, for what period range will this percentage be calculated? - Considering the above comments, if an engine is not operated, but is properly stored for a period, should this inactive period be considered for the calculations? - Finally we would like to post one final question about this AD proposal. Several P/Ns are interchangeable with the CFM56-5C engines. Will/should the 5C engine also be contemplated on the AD?
