Airframes Alaska is an engineering and manufacturing company that supports the aircraft affected by this AD. One of the company’s product lines is replacement sealed lift struts for various Piper and Taylorcraft models. In general we are in support of this Airworthiness Directive since it will have a positive effect on the safety of the affected airplanes, but have the following comment regarding clarification of Note 1 to paragraph (g). The paragraph seems somewhat ambiguous using the word “never” in regards to the seal of the strut being never broken but then saying that “..nor did we intend to preclude a proper maintenance action that may temporarily unseal a sealed strut…”. We propose adding stronger language specifically allowing a proper maintenance action which requires temporarily unsealing of the strut as opposed to just, not intending to “preclude” a proper maintenance action if all appropriate issues are considered. Thank you for considering our comments,
