The proposed rule Airworthiness Directives: Robinson Helicopter Company (Document ID FAA-2013-0159-0001)
is over reacting on the rotor blade issue. In my opinon I don't believe there have that been many issues with blade delamation with blades that are operated in normal operating enviroments.I believe that maintaining a watchful eye on tha bond line and and making sure the area is kept painted to keep moisture from entering the bond area should keep the blades in airworthy condition after all the operator/pliot should be inspecting the blades before flight as part of the normal pre-flight. It seems like Robinson Helicopter should be responsible for making better blades or have someone else provide the blades. If Robinson is responsible for making blades that are subject to what they believe are safety issues then they should be responsible for replacing their product at their cost and not put the burden the owner that felt they were buying a safe product. That being said whos is to say that the new type blades replacing the current type will be any better that the ones we have now if Robinson continues to make their own blades.
