The compliance interval in the equivalent EASA (State of Design) Airworthiness Directive number 2012-0273 is in the range 50 to 200 cycles depending on the number of affected engines installed on an individual aircraft. Although it is agreed that the single 50 cycle compliance interval of FAA AD 203-05-04 should in theory have no impact, as there are no Rolls-Royce Trent 900 powered Airbus A380 aircraft on the US register, it is requested that the FAA should bring their AD in line with that of the State of Design for consistency and to avoid any confusion that may arise with operators who take the FAA ADs into consideration when determining compliance.
