I generally agree with comments previously submitted by noted aviation lecturer and instructor Rod Machado. Subjective test standards are very undesirable. Objective skill-based testing standards would be most effective in reducing accidents. Even recent airline accidents demonstrate that many pilots are lacking in basic skills such as stall avoidance. This was the case in the French Airbus which was in a deep stall prior to striking the surface of the ocean with loss of all on board and most recent San Francisco accident where pilot misjudged desscent rate and stalled airplane prior to tailstrike at end of runway.
