Comment regarding FAR Case 2010-010 to change the reporting requirements for Service Contracts. The proposed change requires businesses performing service contracts for agencies other than the DOD to report contract amounts and direct labor hours as well as other contract related data. Why is this requriement being levied on the business performing the work and not the agency that issued the contract. The amount of contract award and amount of annual task orders delivered is all data the agency should already maintain. For many small business keeping up with myrad of reporting requirements places addtional burden by raising over head costs. Which then results in the contractor bidding work higher resulting in higher prices for the government and additional revenue burden on the agency. Leave the reporting where it is.
