I am a family medicine physician and also work for DPH in California. I am 5 months pregnant and am dealing directly with these issues myself. The drug category labeling is unclear, when combined with specialists prescribing of these drugs. A drug labeled Class C or B in pregnancy may be routinely prescribed and obstetricians state they are safe, which they may be but the classification does not indicate this. Similar issues with lactation and medication. The confusion is tremendous. I applaud your efforts and look forward to seeing these changes become effective.
