The last thing we need in our country is more regulations regardless of what agency is involved. There is absolutely no reason for the FDA to create regulations to control the supplement industry. How many deaths each year are attributed to supplements? Not many I’m sure. The pharmaceutical industry is heavily regulated yet there are 10s of thousands of deaths annually from the use of prescribed medications and many more people seriously injured. The FDA must have better things to do then to become involved with the benign supplement industry. Yes there are supplements that can be harmful to your health when abused but so is driving a car or jaywalking or horseback riding or taking a bath or drinking contaminated water, etcetera. I think that you get the idea with these illustrations of what I am inferring. The FDA should stay to hell out of the supplement industry. As a user I know what supplements may not be suitable for my use. There is readily available information on the Internet to determine the proper use of supplements.
