This ruling will have effect on many veterinary practices. Our practice utilizes the 7 day duration of excede in treatment of hardware disease in cows, and in treatment and prevention of postparturent disease in beef cows. Also, in abscessing foot infections in stockers, cows and bulls. It has improved treatment outcomes. It helps us, because we can do better with the longer duration, vs producers attempting to get repeat doses of other antibiotics in, and in the case of cows or bulls, improves safety for both the animal and producer, and by reducing times through the chute / assuring longer antibiotic treatment is more humane.
