I am writing to argue against amending the Standard Identity for Milk and 17 Additional Dairy Products. Consumers have a right to know what they are consuming. Aspartame is not perfectly safe for everyone. Also, studies have shown that artificial sweeteners lead those who consume them to feel less satiated and to actually crave sugar. I currently buy milk and other milk products for my family on a regular basis, but it this passes, that will change. I will find healthier alternatives. Passing this amendment will lead consumers to trust the food industry, and the FDA, even less than they do already.
