Re: Docket FDA-2010-D-0378, Draft Compliance Policy Guide Sec. 690.800 Salmonella in Animal Feed Dear Commissioner Hamburg: I am writing regarding the FDA's request for comment on Draft Compliance Policy Guide Sec. 690.800 Salmonella in Animal Feed. The FDA should not change its current no tolerance policy for Salmonella in animal feed. Allowing the sale of feed contaminated with Salmonella puts both humans and animals at risk. Permitting livestock to be given feed contaminated with Salmonella known to cause serious human illness is a recipe for disaster. In addition, of the proposed policy is too limited in the types Salmonella it prohibits and would place animals at risk of serious infection. Please prevent serious animal and human illness by prohibiting all Salmonella in animal feeds. V/r, Sharon Garlena Frederick, MD
