As a Naval Officer I enjoy a nice cigar from time to time while watching the deep blue of the Pacific pass by. If you pass this bill it will end my method of buying cigars and having them delivered to the ship, and thus my one respite from arduous days at sea spent on deployment defending our great Nation.
I understand the concern that some parents may not police what their children are buying on the internet. If that is why this bill is on the table, that is yet another reason it needs to be stopped. The government does not have the time or the resources to be a parent to every child in America. At some point, we have to start holding people responsible and accountable for their actions.
Please do not pass this bill and take away one of the few things I look forward to every Sunday at sea.
Thank you.
Very respectfully,
LCDR Marc Hanson
