How can there be “no significant impact”? What about the possibility that the genetically engineered salmon will escape into the wild, where they could contaminate and decimate wild salmon runs. How could the FDA not require any labeling, allowing frankenfish to be sold as “Atlantic Salmon?” The public has a right to know what they are consuming. We need food safety and must protect our wild salmon heritage, not destroy it with more FDA pandering to the corporations rather than protecting our food supply and the public welfare.
