To whom this may concern,
Recent decisions to accept a genetically engineered salmon into the food market is a grave mistake to the wellbeing of humankind. Regardless of any benefits it will bring to feeding the human race, it is merely another profiteering scheme. It is inevitable that this salmon will end up in our wild salmon population which is already in danger. What is actually needed is to have more action to plant native salmon stock back into our rivers and laws to protect this amazing species for the wellbeing of a whole. OUR( the worlds) international waters are being so heavily taxed by behemouth scale fishing industries from Japan, Korea, Russia, and China that we will be seeing an end to the abundance of this species on only a few years. Please see the import of these words. Farm fishing this genetically modified species is not going to solve any problems. Nothing is failsafe and everything is a delicate balance. Lets not compromise quality for quantity.
