As a green bean producer and processor, we want to see green beans included in the exempt vegetable list for this regulation. The green bean is not a vegetable generally eaten in its raw form. When sold in its raw form, it is assumed the consumer will cook the vegetable before consumption. And, when we have the opportunity to sell them in their raw form to a consumer, as compared to a farmers market, we assume the consumer will further process that particular vegetable before eating.
