The National Onion Association has represented the United States fresh dry bulb onion industry for one hundred years. The Association has members in over 30 states producing, packing, and/or distributing nutritious and value-priced onions to the consumers in this nation and to numerous international customers. The Association is pleased to submit its initial comments contained in three attached documents. Additional comment submission(s) may be forthcoming as we sort through studies that further enlighten and confirm the relatively low food safety risk of onion, and as we receive additional scientific research results on work underway, and/or soon to be commissioned. Thank you for your time and attention on this matter.
