I agree with the proposed delay for compliance with the 2009 MUTCD retroreflectivity standards. Our township has been forced to operate under a much tighter budget in the current economy and shouldn't be saddled with the additional burden of having to replace a large volume of signs. We have roads, culverts, drainage, and bridges that pose a much greater threat to public safety that need our attention. Better signage, which enhances driver awareness, is important and can help avoid accidents but the funds aren't available to accomplish this at this time and I don't support our federal, state, or local government going into debt to make this happen. Setting the compliance dates into the future a few years will allow us to take a look at this again, potentially in a better economy. Thank you! Tim Harmann Town Supervisor Morrison Township Brown County Wisconsin
