I encourage you to include Safe Routes to School (SRTS) type activities in the Tribal Transportation Program Safety Funding program. SRTS is a program created under SAFETEA-LU in 2005 to increase the safety of children walking and bicycling to school. This work is particularly needed in tribal communities, which have a high level of children pedestrians injured or killed. It’s also useful because SRTS was wounded in Map-21 and many States like Arizona have Native American SRTS programs that are floundering due to a lack of federal funding from the State SRTS program. Specifically, I believe that SRTS type programming, like "Walking School Buses" should be allowable. Thank you
